An online friend I met in real life...

With the internet being the lifeline to so many these days, it is no wonder that I have met many of my friends via the internet. (And also my husband, but I will save that story for another day.)

I joined an online scrapbooking group called The Foxy Croppers. Not long after I joined, another girl joined and I commented on how she lived near me. Within an hour, I had the longest e-mail I had ever received in my Inbox. I cracked up when I saw this because it was totally something I would do. I knew instantly that we would be great friends. Not long after this initial interaction there was a party planned for the group founder's birthday. My new friend and I made plans to meet and drive together to the party. We decided to meet at a local grocery store so we could also grab goodies to take to the party. I was a bit nervous. I felt like I had known her my whole life and she was a scrapbooker, so I how could I not trust her? We found each other in the store, grabbed our goodies, and headed to the party. Once at the party, we proceeded to meet about 15 new people and their families. It was so worth it! We had the best time.

I am so happy to say that Alex and I are still great friends. We have been there for each other through thick and thin. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful person in my life. And even luckier that she moved to Arizona. (I think it was because she missed me too much.) I love you girl and can't wait to see what our futures have in store!

Alex is on the left and I am on the right.

As for the other Foxy girls at the party, we still remain in contact through Facebook. Thank goodness for Facebook.

New Loves

Moppping the floor is not on my top 1o list of favorite things to do. I have fallen in love with cleaning with the help of Shaklee. Now I have two new loves in my life.

1. Cedar Every-Which-Way All Surface Dust Mop

This dust mop picks up everything. With two dogs, there is a lot to pick up. It is really easy to maneuver and the pad is washable.

2. Libman Freedom Spray Mop

Now I jumped up and down in the aisle when I spotted this spray mop. I wanted something like the Swiffer Wet Jet, but didn't want to have to use the solution that is designed for it because of the chemicals. This mop comes with a refillable container to fill with your own solution. Now I can use my Shaklee Basic-H2 floor solution (1 tablespoon to 1 gallon of water) with this mop! My prayers have been answered. Like the dust mop above, the microfiber pad is washable. My floors haven't ever looked so good. Bonus...the mop has a $5.00 rebate.

Before and After-Cake Plate

This post is long overdue and I apologize. Welcome to my first before and after post. This cake plate holds my dish soap, hand soap, sponge, and sink stoppers. Along with anything else I don’t want to lose down the drain while doing the dishes. As you can see, it is pretty covered in gunk. There isn’t any other way to describe it. I used the Shakee Basic-H2 (my favorite product!) mixed as the Window solution and the Super Microfiber Window Cloth to clean the cake plate. I was amazed at how it sparkled when I was done with it. I don’t even think it had that sparkle when I brought it home from the store. I will let the photos speak for themselves.

Gross!

Gorgeous!

New opportunity

I never thought I would be one to "go green", but this company has definitely converted me. I found out about some products that are green and really worked. (Impossible, right?) I have purchased other natural items at the grocery store and was never happy with the results. After purchasing one product from this company, I am an addict. It cleans everything! I mean everything! And now I do too! (I absolutely hate to clean.) It is good for you, your family, your home, and the environment. Pretty cool, huh...

So my new opportunity is becoming a distributor of Shaklee products. It didn't take me long to decide to do this and I am excited for what the future has to hold. For me and my family. I love the thought of having a chemical free home so I don't have to worry about what me or anyone else in my home is inhaling or touching. Shaklee has more than just cleaning products. They also offer supplements, skin care, weightloss, and anti-aging products. Shaklee is concerned about health inside and out.

To find out what Shaklee has to offer, click on the logo below. Contact me if you have any questions or want more information.

I will be posting before and afters of items I have cleaned around my house. So come back often!

Fantastic day

Today has been such a wonderful day. Three great things happened (Things do happen in threes)
1. One of my closest friends found out that she will be having a girl this fall. She has three boys, so this is really exciting.
2. My husband received the Officer of the Quarter award. Very much deserved...
3. My sister got engaged!!! I am so excited about this. I adore her fiancĂ© and can’t wait to have him become a part of our family. Congratulations you two!

For those of you that are my Facebook friends, please do not post anything about my sister’s engagement on my wall. It is not my news to broadcast on Facebook. I appreciate your discretion. I posted it here on my blog so I wouldn’t forget this day.

Lady Antebellum and Tim McGraw Concert

Brandie and I had been waiting for months for the Lady Antebellum/Tim McGraw concert to come to Phoenix. It finally did on June 3, 2010. We bought our tickets months ago during the presale and had no idea where we were sitting. That is pure torture for us.
The day of the concert had arrived. We had our photo mats for the Lady A Meet and Greet and were ready for the concert. After quite the run around, we finally had our tickets and Meet and Greet passes. I won’t go into too much detail about the wild goose chase we were put on, but after being fed up I turned into my mother. For those of you that know my mother, you now have a mental picture. I was tired of being pushed around and spoke up about it. Needless to say, someone listened and helped tremendously. Thank you Cameron! (even though you will never see this)
So now we are at the right place, know what time the Meet and Greet starts, have our tickets (still not 100% sure where we are sitting), and are anxiously waiting to see Lady A. After all of the chaos, I need a something to calm my nerves. We decide on this...

The announcement is made that it is our turn, so I bolt to where we need to be. I am first in line. They tell us that a professional photographer will be taking our photo and where we could download them from in a few days. I ask, “How big will I be able to print my photo?” The guy looks and me blankly and says, “I have been working this gig for six months and that is the first time I have been asked that.” Leave it to me… We then did the “autograph, smile pretty, off you go” whirlwind of the Meet and Greet.
Then we make a bee line for our seats. Several security guards later, we get there. Our seats are in the FRONT ROW! We started jumping up and down like teenagers. I hadn’t planned on staying for Tim, but at that moment my plans changed. I haven’t ever sat in the front row for a concert and I wasn’t going to miss a minute.
Lady A comes on the stage is phenomenal as always. We sang and danced. Got winked and smiled at. What could be better, right? When their set was over, the roadies came out to clear the stage. I watched and waited for someone to grab the mic stand with the guitar picks stuck in it. I yelled “hey” to get his attention and then politely asked for one of the picks. He walked over to me and tossed it right in my hand. I was a happy girl.
For Tim’s portion, we were able to be right next to the stage. It was AWESOME! Tim’s opening was pretty impressive, lights, video on a large sheer curtain of him on a motorcycle...you get the idea. Then the curtain drops and there he was. And the extremely large group he has, The Dancehall Doctors. Amazing musicians to say the least.
I loved when Tim sang his older stuff. He sang Tiny Dancer and I had to call my sister and leave it on her voicemail, since it is her favorite song. About half way through the show, one of the guitarists was headed towards me with a pick pinched between his thumb and forefinger. I thought he was going to hand it over my head to the lady behind me. I was wrong. Just as he got close, he licked it and stuck it to my forehead. Nice, huh… I am just thankful I am not a germaphobe. I honestly thought it was really cooled that he picked me (and that I now had picks from both Lady A and Tim). Brandie looked over at my completely shocked. I couldn’t stop laughing. I couldn’t believe it happened to me.
As I sit here and write this, I still don’t believe this happened. It is almost like a dream to me. I don’t think I will ever be able to go to another concert again, unless I am in the front row. This concert really spoiled me. I am so thankful for my “MasterCard commercial” night and being able to spend it with such a great friend. I am a lucky girl…
